Climbing wall with a view!
Work is well underway for our relocation to Goosewell, close to the famous Castlerigg Stone Circle.

It will be the climbing wall with the best view in the country; Blencathra, Helvellyn and Skiddaw. |
Keswick Climbing Wall is moving location
You may be aware Keswick Climbing Wall is currently in the process of moving to a new location. We are moving out of our present building, behind the pencil factory, and hope to move up to Goosewell Farm on the outskirts of the town.
Planning permission was granted at the December meeting of the Lake District National Park Authority. Because of the timing of the move we are unfortunately going to be closed to the public for a short time. depending on when the planning issues have been resolved. It is our aim to have the wall up and running by early next year. The climbing wall business is now owned by Newlands Adventure Centre, another local outdoor centre with group accommodation, which will make us one of the biggest outdoor providers in the area. Newlands has been running for over one hundred years and is said to be the oldest activity centre in the country. It is the aim of Newlands to provide a fantastic new facility for all types of groups to use. The indoor climbing wall will be geared towards group use which will be a great asset to the local area and will reduce pressure on the outside crags such as down the Borrowdale Valley.
For all existing customers, both for climbing lessons and all the outdoor activities, such as the water sports, high ropes course and ghyll scrambling, we are pleased to say that all these activities will be on offer for next season. There may be minor changes to the logistics, and we hope to offer some new and exciting challenges to groups, as well as the tried and tested old favourites.
