Keswick Climbing Wall opening soon for Activity Sessions!
We are delighted to announce that you can now book any of our activities for dates after Wednesday 1st July.
We cannot wait to welcome you all back to the Lake District and make incredible memories with you, however there will be some limitations on our activities and operations to ensure the safety of your party and our staff. On top of that we will be taking extra measures to limit the risk of spreading Covid-19.
These will include:
- Booking is essential as places are limited on each activity.
- Maximum group sizes of 5, plus an instructor. (Current Regulations)
- Social distancing will be maintained at all times except in the case of an emergency.
- All of our equipment will be sanitised after being used on any activity.
- Mandatory hand washing stations and sanitising gel will be available
- All Staff will be provided with appropriate PPE for yours and their safety.

We want to welcome as many of you as possible back to the Keswick Climbing Wall as we understand the last few months have been difficult for everyone however, we must stress that:
You must not attempt to enter the centre or participate in any of our activities if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID – 19 or have been in the company of anyone showing symptoms or if you have been told to self-isolate.
During these hard times the tourism and hospitality industry have suffered greatly and unfortunately some of have been not able to survive during this pandemic. Fortunately we as a company have manage to overcome the pitfalls of COVID 19, however due to this we must stress that our cancellation policy has not change and we require a 48hr notice of cancellation for a refund under any circumstance, we hope you all fully understand this.
We must also stress that due to Government Guidelines and as we type this message, Hotels, Bed and Breakfasts, Air B&B’s as well as Holiday Cottages are unable to take any bookings for overnight stays and that includes ourselves so we must stress that you are only visit this incredible area for the day.
We will have our fantastic Cafe open for hot and cold food and drinks (takeaway and spacious outdoor seating area available only), however if you wish to bring your own food with you that is also okay on the grounds that you must take your rubbish back with you! Let’s keep the beautiful Lake District looking beautiful! As we have already stressed we want to welcome as many of you back as possible but always keeping safety first!

NEW SESSION FOR 2020: INTRODUCTION TO NAVIGATION
ARE YOU PREPARED FOR THE MOUNTAINS AND FELLS!?!
The mountains and fells of the of the United Kingdom are becoming more and more popular every year and as such Mountain Rescue call outs are at an all-time high.
Every year thousands of people end up calling for help because they are lost and/or tired. A lot of these call outs would have been completely avoidable if they were adequately prepared for the mountains and fells.
This basic course will cover basic map and compass work and how to keep yourself safe on the mountains. So, if you need to brush up on your navigation, would like to learn the basics or just need that bit of knowledge to be confident in the hills, give us a call to book.
Breakdown of session:
- Meet and greet, short brief.
- Kit check, weather check – what to carry and why.
- Drive High Rigg – 10 mins away
- Introduction to OS 1-25000 maps, basic map and compass explanation.
- Group navigation activity.
- Individual navigation activity.
- Practice, practice, practice.
- What to do in an emergency.
3 hour session – £50.00 per person – 2 min / 4 max per session.
